One Piece is one of the most popular shows in the world. You must have heard this name if you are born in the 90’s. It is also one of the longest-running show and most of the people who wants to watch the anime gets scared after realizing how long the series is. In celebration of that ongoing success of the franchise, people at Shueisha and Toei Animation are working on a new One Piece movie.
New One Piece Movie and Anime 20th Anniversary
According to the official One Piece website, it is confirmed that a new One Piece movie is on its way as the anime will be celebrating their 20th anniversary. One Piece started to air in 1999 and it feels like such a long time has passed ever since the anime started.

New One Piece Movie Release Date
The movie is planned to release in summer 2019 by Toei Animation. We do not know that the movie will be an original or a compilation of past retelling. It will be more like an original movie instead of retelling because One Piece has specials for that.
Just before this announcement, One Piece‘s Episode of Skypiea, or Episode of Sky Island, debuted in Japan on Saturday, Aug. 25. Which bought the Skypiea arc into a more cohesive movie-length animation. Which made the lengthy arc easier to watch. Now, instead of watching several episodes you can watch Episode of Skypiea, or Episode of Sky Island.
