36 PlayStation Classic Games were tested, includes Silent Hill, Tomb Raider and Klonoa [Full List Included, May Release Later]

PlayStation Classic

The PlayStation Classic was Sony’s attempt at capturing the nostalgia element of the older gamers on the PS4 by replicating Nintendo’s success of the NES and SNES Mini. Unfortunately, the console was met with a lot of criticism due to the lackluster line up of titles and how it failed to live up to expectations. It seems that 36 PlayStation Classic Games were tested on the system but didn’t make the final cut into the PS Classic which holds some classic games in the list.

36 PlayStation Classic Games – What Could’ve Been, Should’ve Been.

If you grew up with a PS1 and knew that there were a lot of games missing from the PS Classic, you’d be right. The list includes plenty of cult classics like Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk Pro Skater and plenty of other games.

The list of games is:

Keep in mind that these are just menu entries found when digging through the PS classic. This means that the games were tested to run on the system but never added in to the finished product. More than half of these games were staples of the PS1 and it was disappointing to see none of them make the final cut over other games in the final 20 games for the console which is disappointing.

Unfortunately, the damage has been done by the PS Classic and Sony has potentially killed all hope of improving upon it as the PS classic has a fixed library of games that can’t connect to online to download more games.

We can only wonder what was going through Sony’s head when choosing games to put on the system. Until that day, we will have to settle for running these games on emulators on our phones and desktops.
