As the Apple’s iOS 8 beta 5 version was out, we tend to find some of the new changes in the beta releases. The release tends to be more fine but less incredible. Let’s dive deep down to the new changes and see what’s new in iOS 8 beta 5.

Enable SMS Reply

As part of Apple’s connection plan, you will now see a new pop up that would be asking you to reply your SMS to other devices that are running iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite.

Home Data renamed to HomeKit

This is a bit of small change that you will notice. If you go to Settings -> Privacy you will notice that Home Data is now called as HomeKit.

New Privacy Options for Health

With this new change Health in iOS 8 beta 5 is now the part of Privacy Setting. This can help user to have more control to what data is used more by the owner.

New iCloud Icon

A slightly new Change given to iCloud icon makes it easier to find in settings. Moreover the options in iCloud like iCloud backup, KeyChange and iCloud Drive icon are modified too.

Turn Predictive Text On / Off Directly From the Keyboard

In the previous version of iOS 8 users had to head towards setting to turn on and turn off the Predictive text. Now with a little change in iOS 8 beta 5 version you can see a little ‘Globe’ button besides spacebar. Hold it and you can see some options that also include Predictive Text on/off.

Brightness Slider Removed From Wallpaper In Settings

In iOS 8 beta 4 version a new option was introduced named as Display and Brightness but still the brightness slider was present in Wallpaper Settings. With the release of new iOS 8 beta 5 the brightness slider has completely been removed from the Wallpapers setting. And the slider is now available in Display and Brightness options.

T-Mobile Wi-Fi Carrier Logo

If you are a T-Mobile user and is connected to their Wi-Fi network, then you will notice a change in the carrier name, as seen in the screenshot above.

Export Health Data

Now these a more ease option for you to export all your data from Health App, which is quite a new feature of this beta 5 release.

iCloud Now Optimizes Device Storage

By default the previous versions of iOS used to store the full resolution versions of photos and videos on both devices and iCloud this causes memory consumptions. Now with the release of iOS 8 beta 5 version iCloud now keeps devices optimized versions of photos and video locally and, stores the full resolution version of photos and videos on iCloud.

iCloud Now Displays When Photos Were Last Synced

This is much of a good feature that people like to have, especially for those who forget early. Going to Photos app and then tapping on Photos will display when you Photos was last Synced to iCloud.
